***HOUSE SYSTEM UPDATE There are only 10 weeks before the close of the 2008/2009 House System scores. The Tug-o-War challenge will begin (weather permitting) with Year 8, Wednesday July 29. Form representatives will need to ensure their form is present. 150 bonus points for the winning form. 300 points for the overall winning house. Each participant will earn points for their form. Lunch 2 on the oval. Year 9s Thursday Lunch 2 Week 2. House Captains meet on the oval at 1.35 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday to assist. Mr Figliuolo

*40 HOUR FAMINE – The 40 Hour Famine is to be held on the weekend of 21st – 23rd August (next term). If you wish to take part, you will need to fill out a parent consent form (available from form file or Student Services). Hand in this form to the 40 Hour Famine Committee at Student Services Lunch 2 Wednesday to Friday to collect your 40 Hour Famine sponsors booklet. Students have until December 2009 to complete their 3 dose course. As of 2010, all doses will have to be paid for at a cost of approximately $150 per dose. If you require any more doses and need an appointment or have any queries, please contact the Immunisation Service at Hudson Road on 9795 2814 or see your GP.

MYTH: Lots of people my age smoke. Not true! Many young people think that smoking among their peers is much more common than it actually is. In WA, only 1 in 10 school students aged 12 to 17 years smoke regularly. M. Kilner
